Beautifully restored in the 1980s, Bullis House was built from 1906 to 1909 for General John Lapham Bullis, a frontier Indian fighter who played a key role in capturing Geronimo (some claim the Apache chief's spirit still roams the mansion). All guest rooms have 14 foot ceilings with plaster medallions, chandeliers, cable TV, clock radios and are heated and air conditioned for year round comfort. A hall telephone is convenient to all upstairs rooms. Several rooms have wood burning fireplaces with mirrored mantles and french windows. All are individually decorated in deep rich colors of Hunter Greens, Royal Blues, Burgundies and Golds. Guest rooms are furnished with antique reproductions and some period pieces. As a guest, you dine on a simple but delicious continental breakfast of whipped orange juice; pastries; cereal, and coffee, tea or hot cocoa.
