The San Antonio Public Library is a collection of a Central Library and is housed in a 240,000-square foot, six-story structure that opened in 1995. The building is located in downtown San Antonio and is easily recognized by its bright-colored, striking Mexican Modernist design. The primary color of the building's exterior is "Enchilada Red." With hundreds of thousand of books and periodicals, the library provides equal and open access to books, information and technology resources to promote a lifetime of reading and learning.
