3rd Annual LUMINARIA: Arts Night in San Antonio
Luminaria: Arts Night in San Antonio will take place 6 p.m. to midnight, Saturday, March 13, 2010 with performance stages, streetscape art, light installations and gallery participation. The celebration will take place in historic downtown San Antonio. The 3rd annual, free and open to the public celebration of San Antonio artists, musicians, performers and cultural organizations is the only one of its kind in the state of Texas and was inspired by similar celebrations in Chicago, Paris, Rome and Madrid.
An artist-driven celebration, Luminaria is a collaboration of several hundred artists and more than 40 non-profit organizations coming together to magnify every major discipline in the arts including dance, theater, creative writing, music, visual arts, new media and interdisciplinary projects. Luminaria has attracted more than 100,000 participants in 2008 and 2009. In 2009 Luminaria received a Pinnacle Award from the International Downtown Association and is being recognized during the 55th IDA Annual Conference in Milwaukee.
