JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa Announces New Opening Date and Director of Food and Beverage

Set to add 1,002 rooms to San Antonio’s hotel repertoire of over 38,000 guest rooms, the nation’s largest JW Marriott resort is brimming with big announcements. Most exciting, is a new and earlier opening date of January 22, 2010; February 1, 2010 for group business. Originally scheduled to open in March of 2010, the resort will feature two TPC golf courses, a six-acre water park, 26,000-square-foot spa and 140,000 square feet of customizable event and meeting space—all just minutes from the San Antonio International Airport. 

More sensational news is the appointment of Scott Siebert as Director of Food and Beverage. Siebert will be responsible for executing the opening and management of the JW’s seven food and beverage outlets. His talent and diverse experience are expected to add another layer to San Antonio’s extraordinary culinary scene.

Prior to joining the JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa, Siebert served as Director of Food and Beverage at the Eden Roc Renaissance Beach Resort & Spa in Miami, FL, where he led the successful re-opening of five food and beverage outlets. Before Eden Roc, Siebert gained valuable restaurant opening experience at the JW Marriott Starr Pass Resort & Spa in Tucson, AZ. Aside from serving on the Restaurant and Bar Advisory Board for Marriott International, Siebert has extensive knowledge of wine and beverage sciences and is currently studying in the Master Sommelier program.
