Meat lovers unite November 2 and 3 in San Antonio at the Pearl. Meatopia is an amped-up culinary celebration featuring acclaimed chefs showcasing their skills cooking beef and other meats over live fire during a weekend of festivities. Founded and hosted by Esquire food columnist Josh Ozersky, Meatopia is held annually in New York City, but is coming to San Antonio for the first time.
 
More than 30 chefs will be cooking throughout the weekend, including Paul Qui of Austin, Chris Shepherd of Houston’s Underbelly, Ford Fry of Atlanta, Adam Perry Lang from Daisy May’s BBQ USA in NY and Tim Byres of Smoke in Dallas. San Antonio chefs participating include Bruce Auden of Biga on the Banks, Jesse Perez of Arcade Midtown Kitchen, Tim Rattray of The Granary, Andrew Weissman of Il Sogno Osteria, and many more.


Saturday, November 2

THE BEEFSTEAK 6–10 p.m.
The Beefsteak is reminiscent of carnivorous celebrations of the past. Gather ’round as chefs grill some of the rarest, most celebrated ultra-prime beef in the world. Eat all the steak you can while enjoying specialty beverages.
 

Sunday, November 3

MEATOPIA 1–5 p.m.
An immense, exciting celebration of featured chefs cooking beef, pork, veal, chicken, duck, quail, bison and many other animals—from snout to tail—from dozens of small farms throughout Texas and the U.S.
 

Sunday, November 3

MEATOPIA VIP  Noon–5 p.m.
Meatopia VIP will treat guests to early entrance and access to the VIP stable area featuring specialty cocktails, Guinness on draft, live music, and once-in-a lifetime dining experiences.
