Our city captures the spirit of Texas. The seventh largest city in the United States, San Antonio has retained its sense of history and tradition, while carefully blending in cosmopolitan progress. The city has always been a crossroads and a meeting place. The sounds and flavors of Native Americans, Old Mexico, Germans, the Wild West, African-Americans and the Deep South mingle and merge. Over twenty-eight million visitors a year delight in the discovery of San Antonio's charms.

See you on the River Walk in November 2014!

San Antonio Missions

Did you know there are five missions in San Antonio? The most photographed and known is The Alamo - the site of the pivotal 1836 battle during the Texas Revolution. The San Antonio Missions National Historical Park preserves the other four – Mission Concepciòn, Mission San José, Mission San Juan and Mission Espada. These four missions are active Catholic parish churches and hold regular services. Mission San José holds a
bi-lingual Mariachi service on Sundays at 12:30 pm. Learn more
